Obituary for Major James Alexander McEwan

Promoted to Glory from the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton on Sunday, April 22, 2018, , in his 93rd year. Major McEwan of Hamilton, beloved husband of Evelyn (nee Tidman) for 58 years. Loving father of Craig and his wife Janice of Fenelon Falls and Elspeth and her husband Dan Millar of Hamilton. Proud grandfather of Matthew (Meaghan), Sara (Carter) , and Jennie McEwan and Danielle and Kyle Millar (Brookelyn) and great granddaughter Beth McEwan. Major McEwan served with his wife in various appointments with The Salvation Army in Canada for over 50 years, even in retirement, until 2018, from Vancouver Island to Ontario. He brought much blessing and enjoyment through his piano playing. At Christmas time, he was a familiar figure standing by The Salvation Army kettle at Ancaster Costco. A service of celebration will be held at The Salvation Army Meadowlands, 187 Stone Church Road, Ancaster, on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 am. Memorial donations can be made to The Salvation Army Meadowlands Corps in memory of Major McEwan. Arrangements entrusted to COOPER FUNERAL HOME, Jarvis (519-587-4414). Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca
