Ian received his Ontario Funeral Director’s license in 1989 after graduating from Humber College with a diploma in Funeral Services Education. After 7 years living and working outside of Haldimand County, Ian and his wife Lisa, along with their daughters Rebecca and Sarah returned to Jarvis in 1996 to begin working alongside his father to provide bereavement services to the families of Jarvis and the surrounding area. Two more children, Michael and David, completed their family. Currently, their 3 eldest children are married and have added 2 grandchildren to that number.
In November of 2004, Ian purchased the majority of share of Cooper Funeral Home and continues to operate it along with Lisa and their caring team of funeral directors and part-time staff.
Ian is very active in his church and community, volunteering on several boards including the Jarvis Board of Trade, Grand Erie Business Centre, Jarvis Lions Club, Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Village and Jarvis Minor Ball. He also enjoys giving back by coaching the youth of the area, coaching high school football in Waterford and Minor Fastball in Jarvis.
